What is ActionButton?
ActionButton allows the creation of interactive buttons to engage your audience and move them to action. It only takes a few clicks to build your button, share it with your community–on social media, or embedded on your website–and analyze the results.
Here are the types of buttons available:
Poll: A standard poll designed to gain audience sentiment with a set of 2-4 text or numerical options.
Quiz: A quiz with 2-4 text or numeric answers, designed to gauge audience understanding of a specific topic or issue area.
Sentiment poll: An enhanced poll allowing the audience to answer along a sliding scale. Designed to gauge sentiment on topics with widely-varying stances.
Dial: Typically used for numerical quizzes, the Dial offers audiences a range to estimate the answer. This can also be used as a poll if no answer is provided.
Volunteer carousel: Geo-located volunteering opportunities in set issue areas, powered by Volunteer Match’s nationwide database.
Donation: Donations targeted toward specific 501(c)(3) organizations in the United States.
Signup: Gather email addresses, names, and mobile phone numbers to invite your audience to opt into your communications.
Petition: A standard form designed to be used as either a petition or pledge to empower collective action behind critical issues.
Opinion: A free-text form that gathers detailed reader sentiment to provide real insight into the varied viewpoints of an audience.
Contact your Lawmakers: Geo-located outreach for lawmakers in the United States Congress, as well as MPs in the United Kingdom.
Custom Email Target: Email a specific decision-maker that has a publicly available email address, regardless of your supporter's geolocation.

Why should I get ActionButton as an add-on instead of directly through the ActionButton website?

You’ll have a single invoice for NationBuilder and ActionButton.
Your ActionButton data will sync with your nation for eligible buttons.
To purchase or enable the ActionButton add-on, log into your nation and navigate to Contacts and billing > Add-ons.
I added the ActionButton add-on - now what?
After adding the add-on, you’ll find a link to set up your ActionButton account.
If you already have an ActionButton account affiliated with your email address, you’ll be able to use that account as part of your add-on subscription and your plan will be updated automatically.
How do I upgrade my ActionButton plan?
You will be able to upgrade your plan in your nation control panel by navigating to Contacts and billing > Add-ons > Manage ActionButton.
Who handles ActionButton support?
The NationBuilder support team does! Similarly to NationBuilder, you’ll find a messenger app in your ActionButton account. Don’t hesitate to reach out!
What data will be synced with my nation?
All buttons that collect a supporter's information may utilize the following optional integrations. Action takers who choose to submit their information may:
Receive custom tag(s) on their NationBuilder profile.
Be assigned to a point person within your nation.
Be enrolled in an automation.
Be added to a path.
Be awarded social capital. The value of how much social capital is awarded per button type can be found within the ActionButton homepage > Account Profile > Integrations.
Additionally, individual buttons will push data to your nation in the following cases:
Signup button
A record will be created for the action taker with the tag
AB-signup-Name of Button.
Opinion button
A record will be created for the action taker with the tag
AB-opinion-Name of Button.
Petition button
A record will be created for the action taker with the tag
AB petition - Name of Button.
Contact Your Lawmaker button (emails)
A first record will be created for the lawmaker with the tag
AB-representative. If the action taker opts-in, a contact will be logged on the lawmaker's record with the content of the message.A second record will be created or updated for the action taker with the tag:
AB-email-Title of Email Action. A contact will be logged with the lawmaker on the action taker’s record with the content of the message.
Custom Email Target button
A first record will be created for the target with the tag
AB-representative. If the action taker opts-in, a contact will be logged on the lawmaker’s record with the content of the message.A second record will be created or updated for the action taker with the tag:
AB-email-Title of Email Action. A contact will be logged with the target on the action taker’s record with the content of the message.
