How to Set Up Text Reminders for Events

Remind attendees about an event with a text message reminder

Updated over 4 months ago

After creating your event page, you can schedule a text message to remind your attendees to attend.

A critical requirement for this to work is setting up a tag for all RSVPs. You can do this in Website > Event Page > Event Settings > Advanced

In the example above the tag that all RSVPs get is "rsvp-galadinner"

With this tag all set up, you are now ready to create your text message in the Communication section of your Nation. So navigate to Communication > Choose your Broadcaster > New text blast

Here, compose your text, including opt-out language.

Then select the recipients, who are anyone with the tag you created in the previous step.

Click "Preview and Send" at the bottom of this page.

On the next screen, you can schedule your text for whatever time you'd like to remind people about the event.

We suggest 1 day before or an hour before, depending on the event type.

Now, any RSVPs to this event will get the tag you chose, and people with that tag and who are opted into receive texts from your organization will get a text reminder at the time you scheduled the text blast to go out.
